About

We strive to continue the work and vision of our co-founder Vincent Gallapega (1964-2007).

Pies & Pints is a convergence of people and ideas dedicated to being a friendly neighborhood public house. We believe in good food, good friends, and good work. We have used local craftsmen and artists to help create our restaurant and continue this policy with our staff who approach their work with passion and artistic flair.

Pies:

While we call our pies "Australian-style" because they can be eaten from the hand, we have developed our own take on the traditional meat or vegetable pie. Three years of research and development in our test kitchens have given rise to these tenets:

• We try to use the freshest local ingredients possible. Our beef, for instance, is naturally raised Black Angus Beef from Misty Isle Farms, Vashon Island, WA. Naturally raised beef is free of antibiotics, hormones or growth stimulants.

• Our pies are hand made. From the stocks, gravies and fillings, to the crafting of the pie itself, our pies are made by hand daily right here in our own kitchen.

Pints:

We like to have a selection of quality brews that compliment our pies. We currently have nine taps and a variety of bottled beers and hard ciders.

Community:

We like the idea of the public house and strive to make Pies & Pints casual, fun, and friendly for all ages. Don't let our name deceive you, even though we like the way pints go with pies, we offer more than just pints with an array of beverages suitable for all ages. To highlight a few: Caffe Vita coffee, a variety of sodas, and San Pellegrino waters.

Music:

You will see live local music at Pies & Pints. We promote mostly acoustic music in the bluegrass, traditional, and Americana genres.

Environmental Stewardship:

Unlike many restaurants, we recycle! We try to be aware of our environment and make every effort to reduce our impact on the planet. In an effort to remain good stewards of our resources, we recycle paper, plastic, glass, and the oil from our fryers.

Cheers!

Your Pies & Pints Staff

 ACCOLADES

 - Greg, printed in The Stranger

"Pies & Pints is a convergence of many factors that make for a good bar: tasty food, good beers and mixed drinks, comfy seating, a pool table, and a cozy atmosphere. It's a good place to be whether you're catching up with a group of friends or catching up on your book.

Food: The meat pies are generally excellent, and there's a rotating pie of the day. There are good vegetarian pies as well, and you can get any of them with a salad or fries for not much more. The sweet potato fries are very good and also very filling.

Drinks: The bar has a good selection of beers including the Trumer Pils. There is also a pretty creative menu of mixed drinks."

The Seattle Times

- Matthew Amster-Burton

"I certainly did not imagine a bright, smoke-free, family-friendly spot with excellent desserts, but I'm delighted to be wrong."

"The prices at Pies & Pints are indeed low, the atmosphere is convivial and the food ranges from good to great."

The Stranger

"There is a sort of giddy pie feeling you get when you know your meal is going to come encased in buttery pastry."

"Pies & Pints is probably my favorite restaurant in town. They are open late, which is really convenient when you are up studying, working, or getting into some sort of debauchery... The service is friendly and the servers are really nice.  Also, they have started serving brunch on the weekends, and I have to say, their omelettes are to die for. I love P&P."

"I can't bring myself to give Pies & Pints less then five stars.  Each time I come here, the service is impeccable and intuitive.  The place is clean and has some interesting decor pieces.  I've never not liked the music playing and that is a big bulls eye.  Not to mention, the food here is fabulous and drinks are poured strong and mixed well."

"I prefer the lamb pie.  It's great, with tender lamb chunks and never served too hot… Their soup is very tasty and their salads are HUGE."

"… they have some excellent imported brews behind the bar.  I had a fabulous stout and some German beers the last time I was here and it just made me want to come back again soon.  They serve a mean martini and the bartenders always come up with some shocking rec's that I've never even heard of."
